‘Madame Xanadu’ Series in the Works at HBO Max

Madame Xanadu, who is better known in the comics as Nimue Inwudu, is getting her own HBO Max series, according to Variety.

Madame Xanadu is a powerful sorceress in the DC Universe, with deep ties to the legend of King Arthur.

Nimue was born half-sister of Arthur Pendragon and as such was a princess of Camelot. Nimue was taught how to wield magic by the great wizard Merlin and while learning fell in love with the wizard’s scribe Jason of Norwich, aka Jason Blood.

The sorceress is also a founding member of the Justice League Dark, which just so happens to also have a series in the works at HBO Max.

According to Variety, filmmaker Angela Robinson is writing the one-hour drama series and, should it get greenlit, will executive produce along with J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson. Rachel Rusch Rich will co-executive produce.
