Colin Farrell Reveals How Many Scenes He’s in As Penguin in “The Batman”

Earlier this week Collider caught up with Colin Farell, and the star of the upcoming Matt Reeves’ superhero film was pretty candid with the interview.

In the interview, Farell opened up about his role in the upcoming film, “I’m only in it for five or six scenes, so I can’t wait to see the film because it won’t be ruined by my presence,” he said in the interview. “Really, it’s a freebie to me. I’ll get a little bit uncomfortable for the f-ing nine minutes I have, and then the rest of it, I cannot wait to see how he [Reeves] brought this world to life.”

While fans speculate what this could mean, one thing is clear, The Batman is not a Penguin film, but a Riddler film. And since the villain hasn’t been seen a ton on the big screen, this should be a welcoming breath of fresh air for fans of the DC Comics franchise.

Even in the current description of the film on Google, it says: The Riddler plays a deadly game of cat and mouse with Batman and Commissioner Gordon in Gotham City.

With a lot about Matt Reeves The Batman still in secrecy, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what to think for Farrell’s interview. If the rumor of Matt Reeves getting a trilogy is true, we could potentially see Penguin as a much bigger player in the subsequent sequels.

The Batman, which is set to release in theaters on March 4, 2022, stars Robert Pattison as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farell as Penguin, and Paul Dano as Riddler.
