“The Batman” Soars to $134 Million Domestic Opening Weekend

The Batman shattered box office numbers expectations this weekend with the second-highest opening weekend during the pandemic, falling behind only to Spider-Man: No Way Home which made $260 Million in its opening weekend.

Thursday night previews made $17.9 million, the second-highest during the pandemic behind Spider-Man: No Way Home’s massive $50 million. The Batman also added $3.7 million from Tues & Weds fan previews, and it all amounted to a $57 million haul by the end of Friday night.

By the end of the weekend, The Batman brought in $134 million, making it WB’s highest-grossing film since Todd Phillips’ Oscar-winner Joker back in 2019.

To put how well Matt Reeves’ Batman reboot did in its opening weekend, Warner Bros.’ last full Batman standalone movie reboot, Batman Begins, earned $48 million in its first weekend, not adjusting for inflation.

The Batman is out in theaters now.
