Everything was looking great for Season 2 of Hawkeye. The first season was a success on Disney Plus, Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld shined as co-stars, and it was arguably one of the most well-crafted shows of the MCU’s jump to television.

However, it seemed like negotiations with Renner fell through, as he said Disney wanted to pay him much less than what they gave him for Season 1.
“They asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,’” he said to High Performance.
He went on to say he believed the salary cut was due to his near-fatal accident in 2023.
“I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over? Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.’”
However, it seems like Disney and Renner have finally come to an agreement as he spoke as if Season 2 was fully back on the table while talking to fans at Florida Supercon on July 19.

After briefly touching on the potential season 2, a fan asked Renner which storylines he’d like to tackle in the future as Clint Barton.
“I think there’s a lot of comics out there already written that we use. We used [comic book writer Matt] Fraction’s stuff for the Hawkeye series and we’re kind of going to continue with that with the second season.”
So, good news, Hawkeye fans. It looks like Renner’s run as the Marvel character isn’t over quite yet. Stick with Comic Misfits for more Marvel news as it happens.
