Sorry, Potterheads, but if you were hoping to see Daniel Radcliffe get all gooey as Clayface in an upcoming DC movie, you’re out of luck. James Gunn, the mastermind behind DC Studios, has officially called Cap on the rumor, saying it’s “100% false.”

In typical Gunn fashion, he took to social media to clear things up, stating that casting hasn’t even started yet. “Daniel is great, but we certainly haven’t talked to or considered him,” Gunn confirmed. So, if you had already started fan-casting Radcliffe as the shapeshifting Batman baddie, you might need to pivot.
What is true? There is a Clayface movie in the works, with horror director Mike Flanagan penning the script and Matt Reeves attached as a producer. It’s expected to bring some serious body horror vibes and has already been teased as an R-rated flick. The movie is slated for a September 2026 release, but with Hollywood timelines, take that with a grain of salt.
As for Radcliffe, he’s no stranger to superhero casting rumors. Every few months, the internet convinces itself he’s playing Wolverine, Nightcrawler, or some other character, but he’s consistently denied all of it. While he says it’s flattering, he also made it clear he’s not sitting around waiting for a superhero gig.
TL;DR: The Clayface movie is real. Daniel Radcliffe as Clayface? Not happening. But hey, at least we’re finally getting more Batman rogues on the big screen!
